L’Associazione Gorla Domani è stata costituita nel 1989 ed è iscritta all’Albo Regionale del Volontariato. L’Associazione ha circa 120 soci attivi e il suo obiettivo principale è la valorizzazione del quartiere Gorla e del Naviglio Martesana, per preservare la memoria storica del borgo e per valorizzarne l’identità, con il coinvolgimento dei residenti storici, dei nuovi residenti e delle giovani generazioni. Gorla con il Naviglio Martesana, non è solo un angolo periferico di Milano, ma un luogo ricco di identità, cultura e storia. L’Associazione Gorla Domani organizza iniziative culturali, visite guidate per cittadini e studenti e partecipa a progetti dedicati alla vita sociale, alla mobilità e agli spazi verdi, promuovendo il confronto con gli uffici assessorili del Comune di Milano.
L’Associazione promuove le pubblicazioni curate da esperti e gli incontri con specialisti su temi di interesse cittadino. A tal fine ha avviato il progetto del Centro di Interpretazione e Documentazione, pensato come laboratorio di conoscenza e valorizzazione del territorio. Il centro raccoglie e organizza informazioni sulla storia e le tradizioni del borgo, anche al fine di reinterpretare il passato in chiave moderna, con uno sguardo verso il futuro e la sostenibilità. Lo scopo è la diffusione della conoscenza del borgo come tassello fondamentale nel sistema verde e culturale dell’Est milanese, creando un ideale legame tra i borghi storici milanesi e il Parco Martesana, fino ai comuni limitrofi.
La valorizzazione del Naviglio Martesana, un tempo arteria vitale per il commercio e la vita cittadina, è centrale per ridare forza e identità a un borgo che rischia di essere dimenticato. L’Associazione Gorla Domani rappresenta, dunque, un ponte tra passato e futuro, per preservare le tradizioni e le memorie storiche e per promuovere un modello di sviluppo sostenibile e partecipato dedicato al quartiere.

The Gorla Domani Association was founded in 1989 and is registered in the Regional Register of Volunteers. The Association has approximately 120 active members and its primary objective is to enhance the Gorla neighborhood and the Naviglio Martesana canal, preserving the historical memory of the village and enhancing its identity, engaging longtime residents, new residents, and younger generations. Gorla and the Naviglio Martesana canal are not just a peripheral corner of Milan, but a place rich in identity, culture, and history. The Gorla Domani Association organizes cultural initiatives, guided tours for residents and students, and participates in projects dedicated to social life, mobility, and green spaces, fostering dialogue with the City of Milan's municipal departments.
The Association promotes publications edited by experts and meetings with specialists on topics of interest to the city. To this end, it launched the Interpretation and Documentation Center project, designed as a laboratory for understanding and promoting the area. The center collects and organizes information on the history and traditions of the village, also with the aim of reinterpreting the past in a modern key, with an eye toward the future and sustainability. The goal is to spread awareness of the village as a fundamental element in the green and cultural network of eastern Milan, creating an ideal connection between Milan's historic villages and the Martesana Park, all the way to the neighboring municipalities.
The enhancement of the Naviglio Martesana, once a vital artery for commerce and city life, is crucial to restoring strength and identity to a village at risk of being forgotten.
The Gorla Domani Association therefore represents a bridge between past and future, to preserve traditions and historical memories and to promote a sustainable and participatory development model dedicated to the neighborhood.
